Love Poem: my muse once sleeping is awake -

my muse once sleeping is awake -

long nights I stood beneath the sky
and strained to hear the heavens cry
then sang the sun with day to break ...
my muse, once sleeping ... is awake.

I sauntered thru my years, carefree
content to dream what life might be
til death came sneaking like a snake ...
my muse, once sleeping ... is awake

my loves were frequent, no remorse
I swam up souls to find their source
until love brought my heart to ache ...
my muse, once sleeping ... is awake

I chose a pen to scribe my thoughts
but could not loose the inner knots
then learned to untie each mistake ...
my muse, once sleeping ... is awake.
