Love Poem: My Mountain High

My Mountain High

Place me on my mountain high
Where clouds must climb to cross the sky
My bed be made in the sandstone hewn
My blankets of soil and grass wet with dew
My head board made of native stone
With my name that marks my mortal home
Let dust my body now become
Till I rise once more through the eternal Son
As is the way of this world
My life was filled with twists and twirls
Good times bad times and in between
Days of kindness and days that were mean
But through it all I followed His call
Even when I would trip and fall
Distractions here temptations there
Rocky paths with holes and snares
Before me He walked and steady I stood
As long as I kept my eyes on Him good
On days when I would look away
I would fall down and into the traps I'd stray
Looking back to that old rugged path
I see Him before reaching out with His staff
Pulling me back onto the path to keep walking with Him once again
He loved me though I failed Him many times and was quick to forgive when I repented of sin
