My Lover Cried Today

I made my Lover cry today,
With something that I didn’t say,
I thought she could read my mind,
When she couldn’t, I was unkind.
Feelings can get in the way,
We don’t see each other every day,
When we do, a flood of emotion,
Caused by our devotion,
Everything comes spilling out,
Sometimes, things I don’t think about,
I think we both are tense,
Between us lies a white picket fence,
Surrounding our common living space,
Where we can, all day, Embrace.
That we can’t live there is a fact,
Now we have entered a pact,
That if we feel anxious, or pushed away,
That we talk about it, right away.
Life is what happens while you are making plans,
But you should talk about things while holding Hands,
So your Lover knows that you feel,
That your Love for her is Real!
Every problem won’t go away,
But, in your Heart, Love will stay!
