My Love - Part I

Your shoulder brushes against my own
Your warm scent, harder to ignore the more I attempted
Years of being subjected to this cruel sensation
How long shall I last without being tempted?

Tender eyes, flushed cheeks, your firm, sincere hand
Entrapped in mine, as your lips mouth affairs of all around yet nowhere
Your enticing eyes, a vast ocean; and unfortunate me
Couldn’t help but drown, couldn’t help but stare

For the words you recite, like a nightingale in the starry sky
Try as I might, couldn’t prevent it arousing a want in me
Ballads, novellas, or be it boring facts and records
I want you to read to me, as long as your voice continues to be

When was that fateful moment, that had slipped my mind,
When from a tiny fragment, you became the entire world to me?
Was it the first time you’d held my hand, the first time I pondered
‘Bout how enchanting your eyes were, and how it’d taken me this long to see?

And now that years had passed us by
Feeling like millenniums as they may
I am still sat by your side, lost in your eyes
Looking for the right words to say

Hopeless, I sway, for neither sweet words in prose or verse
Could explain to you my heart, break its guise
Nor my silence, subtle hints and hopeful eyes
My love, could ever make you realize…
