Love Poem: My Lord

My Lord

A coral bay, a sandy beach,
Not too far, within my reach.
Palm trees sway in a cool nights breeze,
Alone with my God, all at ease.

Time alone, time to wander,
God's creation, so much to ponder.
Look up, look up, into deep black skies,
See His creation before your eyes.

The planets, some you cannot see,
Uncountable stars just for you and me.
The Heavens He made by His own hand,
It's where you will find His throne will stand.

Standing here, on a beach,so small,
Hard to believe I have worth at all.
His wisdom, His love, compassion and grace,
Are mine for the asking as I run the race.

My prayers are asked every night and day,
They go heaven bound, there is never delay.
He is never too busy to hear my plea,
He is always ready, just for me.

He gave me a gift, more precious than gold,
He gave me a wife to have and to hold.
He gave me our daughters to love and adore,
He gave me His love, I could ask for no more.

His love He poured out, more than I ever deserved,
For in those days, Him, I did not serve.
I never gave thought to church or to God,
I know now the wrong path that I trod.

Looking back to my lifes beginning,
I never gave thought to if I was sinning,
I struggled through life, like many folk did,
Not knowing, from Him, that nothing was hid.

My past is not shameful, except for the fact,
That love for the Lord was all that I lacked.
He is Alpha, Omega, He is love everlasting,
I now know His love, it comes without asking.

He is Alpha, Omega, beginning and end,
He is love everlasting on Him I depend.
He is my Father, to Him do I cleave,
He is God Almighty, in Him, I believe.

In the twilight of years and so many a tear,
He has waited so long for me to see clear.
I'm ever so happy that He didn't pass by,
I hope that He knows that I'm His 'til I die.

Then, when this life is o'er, my last breath is spent,
I pray to my Lord to be heaven sent.
For since I found Jesus and He rescued me,
I long to be with Him for eternity.
