My Knight In Knock-Off Chainmail

She is a suit stretched over broken bones; Fading golden locks breach cracking quiet lips- You light a candle by her frozen soul And quench her thirsty heart with tiny sips You hold her shaking hand with gentle strength You brush her blood-rushed cheek with tender You make a promise you are here to stay You make a promise you will mend her She has gathered every drop of love you've shed She has mustered every ounce of strength for you You wipe the drizzling rain falling from her eyes And she lights the candle when you're shiv'ring blue She holds you close to feel the warmth she knows She listens for your steady sleeping heart You shiver as your dreams drift icy cold Of Siren's songs that whisper love's depart So you awake beside a crackling fire burning bright She begs of you to melt the hard'ning frozen wall And as you follow Siren's wails to let her go, She finds a droplet's not a promise after all
