Love Poem: My Heart

My Heart

My My heart heart Oh I lost a big piece of my heart when you left, up so far away my sweet old cat. Yes, my heart is crushed it has just shattered. It lays at my feet broken in a thousand shards jagged, and, I may never, ever be able to put it back together. There is a great hole where my love for you should be, and I still wake up weeping your name each new day. I can still hear your last sad quiet meow in my arms. How you laid your weary head on my shoulder, while I sang you a sweet goodbye lullaby; that tune will haunt me forevermore. You left this world with a soft sigh, like a whisper- in the new dawn; and I held you crying for hours, 'till you had gone stone cold. I put you in your pink blanket with tears; My heart weeps for a cat dead. ____________________________________ July 2, 2018 Poetry/Shape/My Heart Copyright Protected, ID 18-1037-552-01 All Rights Reserved.
