Love Poem: My Grandpa M.

My Grandpa M.

He was a lumberjack, bigger than life,
and always had time for his little wife.

The one who bent to tie my shoes,
and told Me not to drink booze.

He could build anything of wood,
and could do more than two men could.

He used to make cheese and build barns,
now He took Me for icecream and told yarns.

Full of wisdom and grace...
He seldom got in My face.

The one with answers to the riddles of life,
a man who didn't like war and strife.

One to run to at nite...
when things at home were not right.

He taught Me how to fish,
and to pronounce some German dish.

He gave Me a chance to be a man,
He taught me to say I can...

A man I hunted with...
He set aside many a myth.

GrandPa told Me about the LORD above,
and with GrandMa showed Me Love !
