My Grandma's Daughter

She wakes is the morning to see the sun rise
nurturing flowers is how she passes her day
Mothering is just her way

It is a space so wide and small
when you hear your mother call
Your name and life she gave you
and your thanks is more then due

Passion free from form
And heart not of norm
A kind gentle way
That grows greater with each passing day

I hope to measure up
Although i know i could not fail her
It is her praise I seek
With each and every week

The days and weeks turn into years
And its still her that takes away all my fears
In only a minute I can be brought to tears
At the thought of life without my grandma's daughter
