Love Poem: My Friend

My Friend

To the ones I've known for many years,
We've shared some laughs between some tears,
And everytime I see your face,
It's not religion and surely not race,
That makes me feel so good inside,
That you and I share more than pride,
And even when they did collide,
Our bond still stood the test of time...
Some I knew for just a while,
The seed we planted still fertile,
Like crops in season we will grow,
Although it seems a little slow,
It has to so it can mature,
To get to where we can be sure,
That what we share is why we must,
Spawn seeds of care and not mistrust...
And even as I'm getting older,
There's 20 times as many shoulders,
To fill my arms when they extend,
And thank the lord that you're my friend..
