My Favourite Haunt
You are a shadow,
Glittering obscurely in front of me-
Caressing my skin with gentle grace,
Before I step into your embrace,
And you consume me.
You are a wraith-
Transparent in your intentions,
You linger,
Casting a shadow over my heart,
Over my soul,
As you drag me further into the dark.
You are a phantom.
You haunt my dreams.
And have the starring role in all of my nightmares.
You have corrupted the light in me-
My soul, a dying flame on the wick of a candle.
One more blow-
I'm gone.
I am a ghost now-
A translucent fraction
Of the glowing life I used to be.
Your hands weigh heavy on my body,
As they have since the first time i saw you
And now I'm stuck with you.
