My Favorite Weather

His eyes are not the same anymore
Certainly not like they were before.
His edges weren’t usually this course,
Now he’s armed with no remorse.

But when the sun stepped down to give moon glory,
I saw him standing in such purgatory.
I saw cracks in his armor and under the surface.
He looked up at me, hurting and wordless.

The moonlight kissed our disguises,
that were not even the right sizes.
Something triggered the world that he kept inside,
His alluring words came out in one stride.

He let down the walls he was hidden in,
And Lord, they were nowhere close to thin.
He tapped into places deep in his heart,
he grabbed his life and tore it apart.

He cut his veins deep and wide
To show me what was inside.
I saw the pain right in his eyes
It’s not something he can easily disguise.

He poured just like a tornado,
He had hints of forming a rainbow.
His eyes didn’t have the same pleasure,
but he was now my favorite type of weather.
