My Father's Blessing (A Rondel) His wrinkled hand would touch my head And lift his eyes to the mountains: He’d ask the Lord that I be blessed, Have His peace and enough graces. Excited, off I went with speed - Lived world’s lies; drank turbid fountains. His wrinkled hand would touch my head, And lift his eyes to the mountains. Late I understood this kind deed; His hands asked for heavenly gifts; Unto me a Godly blessing flows. Preserve her from harm, he would plead And lift his eyes to the mountains. 7/28/14 This is dedicated to my Father whose birthday is on August 2. Remembering also how he would bless me every time I am to leave home for school faraway from family. May his soul rest in peace and may he smile at his now big girl for he is well-pleased. :)) “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. “ Num. 6:24-26
