Love Poem: My Endless Love

My Endless Love

If I could but hold my love again
My heart would beat as fast
As once it did when love was new,
So far now in the past.

Refrain:
True love is ever lasting love
True love can't be constrained.
When lesser loves have come and gone,
True love shall have remained.

It doesn’t fade away with time,
An endless love once found.
Forgotten not, although he's been
These long years under ground.
(Refrain)

I see him in grandchildren’s eyes
And sometimes hear his voice
When I am in my quiet time
And reminisce by choice.
(Refrain)

Life does go on and interferes
And memories grow dim
Except for those of endless love,
Enduring love for him.
(Refrain)
