My Answered Prayer
I was chiseled by angles before
Witless from pain my haunting nights bore
From a past I can't blindly forget!
Those heartbreaking years I will always regret.
For I never did what I should have done
I did not corrected my mistakes before they were gone
Let them suffer and myself times two
They loved me but I refrain to be true.
I was hurt more than I imagined I would be
The love I planted I never had the chance to see
I hated myself so much for the cowardness I've shown
The person they love is not as strong as they've known.
I blame myself and remained silent for long
Then you came into my life like a gong
Making me realize it's time to forgive
First myself so I can start again to believe.
Now here we are painting some music
A song our hearts can only understand the lyrics
It's not a perfect melody but for me it's the best
We're together, let the world alone to the rest.
I'm thankful for this lifetime with you I am claiming
God knows how I waited for this chance I am aiming
I know that what we have doesn't mean forever
But always remember I will leave you never.
