Love Poem: Murder By Lust

Murder By Lust

I felt compelled to write this a few years back after watching a shocking story on the news.

You strut like a peacock in full bloom,
Your vanity the very thing that settled your doom.
You jumped in feet first, and now it’s too late,
Unprotected, not caring, you’ve sealed your own fate.

Bitter and twisted the consequences seems,
Your future is bleak and you’ve shattered your dreams.
Any love you once had, has now turned to hate,
The impulse you acted on was the wrong one to take.

Not caring you go onwards, revenge in your heart,
Wounded and hurting, your heads torn apart.
If you have to suffer then others must too,
And so you contaminate, it seems fair to you.

In a moments pleasure you spread your disease,
Not caring at all for revenge drives your need.
Perversely enjoying it but you know it’s not right,
Who gave you permission to forfeit some one else’s life?

A spilt second’s guilt the reality seems clear,
You’ve spread the infection that all of us fear.
I hope you are sickened, you deserve that much,
For taking innocent lives with your sinister touch.

Your penance is huge for what you have done,
Knowingly harming whilst you have your fun.
You acted in anger, made love in hate,
Death is your punishment, for that you now wait.
