Love Poem: Ms Nocturnal

Ms Nocturnal

I grasp with the grip of a dying man,
striving to survive.
Firm, yet so gentle,
like the subtle flick of a perfected trick
that makes me feel so alive.
It's true what you say, you sleep in the day.
Along with the moon, your slipping away.

Though far from oblivious, I'm far from judgmental,
I hear all the words you say
and don't consider you mental.
I've wandered many a dark abyss, I know the face of fear.
Though prepared to jump off a cliff, you still hold life dear.
I'm free in the night,
but most of my life, I live in the day.
and as the sun's rising, your fading away.
But at night, I'll still be awake
placing faith in fate.
