Mountain Princess

Q
What happened? I know you saw me like this;
I know you heard my silent cries for help.
You even picked the lock to the gate; that kept the unwanted out;
You came right in and I loved you for it;
What happened and why am I still here waiting?

  A
My sweet fairy princess; I did see you and I did hear your call;
I didn’t pick the lock darling; I had a key; buried in my heart
I was going to fly away with you but first I had to give you a test.
I was leaving and I asked you to stop me; and you wouldn’t
Now I don’t have anything since I don’t have you; what happened?

Q
Yes you were my hero; and I loved you; I listen for your footsteps;
But they never came; and I know it’s not really anyone’s fault; but why;
What happened; wasn’t I beautiful enough; did I not love you well enough?
I told you I’d be waiting if you ever came back; why haven’t you come?
The others just don’t know; but you do.

A
Forgive me princess; my time has come and gone;
I’m a prisoner of circumstances; and freedom seems only a dream.
I’d give anything for another chance with you.
Just one word spoken by you and I’d break these chains; but none ever comes
Search of yourself and there you’ll find my heart; take it with you and fly away.
