Love Poem: More Than I Deserve

More Than I Deserve

The coffees hot by six am
Man, she’s always done me right
She’s been my life and savior
Helped me through my darkest nights

Girl, this seems so crazy
I’m amazed by what you do
You saw something within me
Something I never even knew

Sometimes I get to wondering
How you walked into my life
The chance of us just meeting
And you becoming my lovely wife

You gave all of my life meaning
You tolerate my selfish words
You resurrect me

Your sweet voice is always heard

I just have to tell you

You’re so much more than I deserve

The fights we had in high school
Skipping lunch and spending time
Sharing fast food at that old hotel
Sipping on that cheap strawberry wine

O’ the times we’ve had together
Our stories should be written in stone
I’m not sure how I got so lucky
Your sweet love brings me home

Sometimes I get to wondering
How you walked into my life
The chance of us just meeting
And you becoming my lovely wife

You gave all of my life meaning
You tolerate my selfish words
You resurrect me
Your sweet voice is always heard

I just have to tell you

You’re so much more than I deserve

[Bridge]

It’s six am - alarm is ringing
The coffees hot - right off the stove
I just have to sit back in amazement
Cause only the good Lord will ever know

Sometimes I get to wondering
How you walked into my life
The chance of us just meeting
And you becoming my lovely wife

You gave all of my life meaning
You tolerate my selfish words
You resurrect me
Your sweet voice is always heard

I just have to tell you

You’re so much more than I deserve

So much more than I deserve
