Monkey Bred In a Zoo
Once there was a little monkey bred in a zoo.
The only place that it ever knew.
happy and joyous dancing content where he grew.
Many came and went but it never cared the staring crew.
Once came a little girl carried by her mommy, gazing!
said looking at the monkey "look mommy it is so happy".
mommy took her closer and the monkey too felt something new.
It stopped its play and stretched for the girl to shake her hand.
The girl got scared, cried and screamed.
the nearer the monkey got, the louder the girl wept.
later when the girl left, monkey felt broken and lost.
It looked for a few days from its cage for the girl to come back.
never the girl returned, never the monkey danced ever again.
monkey got sadder, retrospection made it madder.
solitude gave him cancer and it finally died with anger.
Poor monkey bred in a zoo had a loneliest death of all.
