Love Poem: Monkey

Monkey

You've been my jumper now for too long, it's time for change, your wearing me out just
like i've been wearing you in, i'll tell you something and it's straight from the heart,
i'll tell you, i know what i am but do you know what your doing

maybe you'll find your self another piece of lucky in love, maybe you'll see it's not so
nice to be so left on the shelf, above it all there is a land of love and hope and glory,
though on your back there is a monkey, monkey

planning a party isn't so nice when you find your best of friends, up in the trees along
with everybody else
i'll say just one thing, it's true to the part i'll tell you, i'm finding me, but do you
think you'll find yourself

you fly this plane of heartache like a fighter pilot
someday the sky will take you out and you can call it unluck, above it all there is a land
of love and hope and glory, up on my back there is a monkey, monkey

the fuel of glory is an evil if not pleasurable pain
and if a feeling lights a fire it can hold away the rain,
persistent whims are only tears of porous prejudice
the cat the dog the mouse, the predator the prey the poor, amen.
