Mommy Told Me
She got on her knees and bowed her head,
I could not believe the words my baby said.
My baby girl was talking to God,
I listened to her words and I began to sob.
God, I am six now, I'm almost grown,
I wish my daddy did not have to be alone.
I know my mommy is in Heaven with You,
and I know You are busy, because You have so
much to do.
My mommy got sick, and then she had to leave,
but sometimes when I'm sad, she comes to see me.
Mommy tells me You love me so, and she does too,
more than I know.
She told me last night, "baby don't cry anymore", that she
would always be with me, because that's what mommies
are for.
She said if daddy would let go of his pain, You will send
someone special to love us, because, You are the only one that can.
