Mister-Mistress

I-
I had a dream
of meeting a prince charming
or a killer queen
then one day, when I was fifteen
I beheld the person who filled me up with glee

I finally found the person for me
wouldn't want anyone by my side but he
his heart is so warm, he smiles radiantly
a year passes and we are still close as can be
then he tells me something I could never foresee

My mister became a mistress
and you bet she looks better than you in a dress
My mister became a mistress
yes, I cried, but she retains my love nonetheless

Well you say that he's gay
there's no way he loves me
I don't see why it matters to you anyway
There's a thing, well, you see
there's a thing that he be
and it works out for me
because he is a she

My mister became a mistress
and you bet she looks better than you in a dress
My mister became a mistress
if she's gay then I haven't a reason to stress

I just want her to know
I'll always love her so
my gut flutters with butterflies hatched long ago
It's been two years and counting
my breath's snatched, she's astounding
she's my queen, I'm her beau
to the future we'll go

My mister became a mistress
and you bet she looks better than you in a dress
My mister became a mistress
and she knows I love her better than all the rest
