Love Poem: Missing You

Missing You

Every now and then it just creeps up on me
I swear I need an intervention
Life rolls along quite comfortably
Then “BAM” - I miss you

It’s not like you have earned it
With your transparent lies and childish games
Your twisted, self-important facade
But I still miss you

Perhaps it’s some sick sense of security
Predictable, yet volatile
Cruel, but caring in your own perverse way
And I still I miss you

If I can just wait it out, the feeling will pass
Like a viral sickness deep in my heart
Nothing can cure it but time
I still miss you - I just wish I didn’t
