Missed Chance

I would see her every now and again,
but I was so much younger.
And so less I knew back then.
Opportunity presented itself a time or two.
But was always relating to the work we'd do.
And then so when our paths would cross,
as for words, I was always at a loss.

I'd see her walking across the hall.
Not knowing how I felt,
no not one bit at all.
The beauty that she didn't,
didn't know she possessed.
Dreaming of her as I slept,
always gave amazing rest.

I remember the way her voice did sound.
And that day she smiled,
when she caught me looking her up and down.
The highlight of my day,
was when she would pass my way.
But I could never find,
the courage just to say.

Always was there this feeling,
that she wanted to know me as well.
Always was that feeling,
almost surely I could tell.
She had this look I felt she saved for me.
She had this look with which into me she'd see.

Often I imagined,
what it would be if we were together.
Just a thought that shall remain.
Just a thought forever.
As came that day, when she was gone.
Moved away, a distance long.
To be seen not once again.
I was so much younger,
and so less I knew back then.

Now that I am a bit older,
I wish I would have told her.
Or just even simply said "Hello."
Because now, well now I'll never know.
