Mirror Image

She's everything I want to be
Her hair is straight while mines is nappy
She is smart waving her degree in front of me
Proud mother staring at the other side gloating
She has her one and only on her arm
While I stand lonley waiting
She's so confident
I'm so unsure
She's ready for what's in store
I'm afraid to touch the door
I tend to please everyone but myself
A hold a smile yet sadness is always very near
She lives for today
I live for tommorrow and beyond
She speaks the truth no matter the consequences
I tend to lose all form of communication when i'm scared or nervous
She's surrounded by many
Respected by plenty
But all that matters to me is the acceptance of my truest friends
She's on cloud nine and heading straight where she wants to be
She takes a compliment like a concieted person
I take compliments as self reflection
Sometimes I don't know what's wrong
Why can't I be more like her?
Sane, Brave, Driven, Sexy, Loved...
Why can't I just be my mirror image?
I point and she points
I blink and she blinks
But she's on the inside looking out
and i'm on the outside looking in
So instead of being trapped I have an oppurtunity
                  To just live
Just doing what feels right to me
At night I will have sweet dreams
I'm just going to be me
Something my mirror image could never do
My mirror image smiles as I come upon this realization
