Love Poem: Midnight Valentine

Midnight Valentine

I lay amongst the satin sheets with thoughts of you
in your loving embrace, melting in hues of blue.

Your lips upon mine as my body would ignite;
my blushed face buried in your neck as you'd squeezed tight.

You did not need to tell me twice that you loved me,
for it was in your smile for all the world to see.

You were the bright skies that made me rise at sunrise,
the caring breath in my lungs that made the earth rise.

If I could rewind time to feel one more tender kiss
upon my lips, I would thank God, for it's you I miss.
