Love Poem: Melody

Melody

Branch upon branch I hop
Singing my lyrics in the air
A song of calling.
Tree to tree I fly
Mine is a search
For a partner, for love.

I take a moment to preen
Have my coat tidy
For I am out to impress.
For a moment I scan the lands
Distant and wide
Hoping to spot the one I can love.

Melody and pitch
I compose my tune
At times I croon
Another I raise my notes.....
My song is the same
I need someone to love me.

At times I fly
Making dance in the air
Circles and loops..........
I want to be noticed
I reach for the clouds
Then again back again.

My cause is stated
My language spoken
Hoping to reach a receptive ear.
As I prepare to go to my nest tonight
A question lingers
Will it be you to love me?
