Love Poem: Maybe

Maybe

I don’t know why I never spoke or why I held your hand, but I wish that I could change
the past to feel those things again. You said this was our last dance, as a tear slid
down my face. One last kiss, a tattoo left by your sugar lips, that brushed my mouth
like lace.
Maybe it’s better, maybe it’s meant to hurt. Maybe you’ll leave me for now, but come
back. Maybe you hate me…but maybe we’re in love. Maybe nothing will ever make sense. But
maybe, maybe, maybe…its better.
I hold my knees, and close my eyes, but it all seems so unclear, its hard to think while
I’m on my own, but even worse if you are near. I’ll take a drink to get the feeling,
that I’m not so alone. But what if the only feeling I’ve got is that it’s better on my
own?
Maybe it’s better, maybe it’s meant to hurt. Maybe you’ll leave me for now, but come
back. Maybe you hate me…but maybe we’re in love. Maybe nothing will ever make sense. But
maybe, maybe, maybe…its better.
