Love Poem: Masquerade Dance

Masquerade Dance

Dancing in the masquerade,
can't see what’s behind this mask
hiding these eyes of mine
that try not to cry but do their task,
of saying what the voice cannot
as I try to keep in time
to the dance we're caught in.
Committing the deadliest crimes,
that are done in the game of love
dance, dance, in the masquerade
blasphemous mouths say, "In the name of
love." Play the bloody serenade.
The song of the masterful siren
calls out, waiting to be returned
and I'm a goner, now I'm caught up
in something I never learned.
Keep my feet moving;
no, you can never stop this dace
once you start in the masquerade,
you won't get a second chance.
Feel the eyes as they watch
the primal beat pushes on,
they dissect you deep down
their eyes won't ever be gone.
Eyes of a stranger, of a siren,
the mask of deep, deep, red
ensnared forever, can't let this moment go
murdered in love, it leaves you for dead;
gaze on with your dead lovers eyes
falling deeper into the masquerade
this won’t ever be the same so,
all previous notions of love, dissuade.
So dance, dance, in the masquerade;
in the game of love tonight
whisper silently to above
to make it out alright.
