Love Poem: Marble Heart

Marble Heart

For the first time, He heard her play,
she played the piano beautifully, the melody made him stay.
He listened perfectly,
Until he fell asleep.

And one July afternoon,
He saw her again.
people dancing in the square,
He stopped and stared.

She felt uneasy,
the feeling of being watched.
For the first time, He approached her.
And all her feelings became a blur.

It was the summer, forty years ago.
the story of a woman & her great wartime love.
It became her burden,
Like an awkward sack of hatred & love.

Now she remember, that they walked all those afternoons,
their arms around each others waist.
She didn't understand why he had to leave,
But in a cold war, he needed to hide, so he can live.

She didn't know where he went,
"I'll find you.", the last letter he sent.
But will it make a difference,
to find him, or live w/o his absence?

And now, she didn't understand at all,
how his absence made her fall.
she missed talking to him,
about anything and everything.

Even now, she's still hoping,
A Marble Heart that's still seeking.
He loved her, & he'd be back,
Holding him again mattered, but it's just a fact.

Winter came, as if the year would never die.
like the last breathing soul, after he said good-bye.
Transparent in a world of ghosts,
He's gone, as she left him the Red rose.

He was her secret,
the thing she had in reserve.
I wonder how she'll find him w/ her sadness,
can he go back in all that darkness?

I would wish it for her now,
to the woman and her wartime love.
An endless forest, where she can look for him,
And maybe twenty years till dawn, she can find the man,
that changed it all.
