Man and Woman

I am a dog

You are a snake

You are a snake

I am a dog

It sounds like the same thing.

With out a sign of remorse, I make a mess, I up and leave

Without a trace, your hands, in and out the cookie jar, slick you are

Heads and tails, different, but of the same coin

I forgive with a shout and scream,

You forgive with tears and a grin,

Scary.

Sniffing and pointing fingers appeases your guilt,

Telling lies, half truths and ultimately confessing eases mine,

My lies are like a toddler, all over the place,

One lie exposed by the other, in my case

One lie strengthened by the other, in your case

I, forever man.

You, forever woman.

But apples of the same tree, that we are.

Adam and Eve.

Adam, stupid enough to be brave,

Eve, devious enough to even dear.

I am a dog

You are a snake

You are a snake

I am a dog

It sounds like the same thing.
