Making Up

We are the type to laugh in the morning after the war we had the previous night. Why does
our best love making happen after we fight? Can't we go back to the start where all of
these feelings were new? You could give back the pieces to my broken heart and I will do
the same for you. What happened to the laughter that once filled these halls? Where now
are the photographs that used to grace these walls? What good is my time when it's spent
here without you? What good are stories now when the best ones are about you? Is this
really how things are meant to be? I bruise my knees praying for an answer to come to me.

Tell me that you love me and I'll tell you the same. Only, when I tell you I'll add "for
all of my days". Tell me that you'll never feel nomadic and ever want to roam and I'll
convince you that no matter where you wander this will always be your home. Look into my
eyes and see the pain that I'm feeling but look upon my skin and see that the old me is
peeling as I shed away the past and grow in something better for the sake of me and you.
My only request is that you grow with me too. I can't do this alone 'cause believe me
I've tried. I said it was easy but I'll admit to you I lied. I need you here like air in
my lungs. We can't slow it down now. Look how far we've come. This dance is made for
two and there's no one in the world I would rather take the floor with than you.
