Love Poem: Making Pretend

Making Pretend

It's a fake, it's all pretend,
Yet how can the heart make up what it sends,
You can place the words to fairytales, hopes and dreams inside,
But part of the book is true, the feelings are too defined,
A yearning in between the lines that solely belongs to you,
The easy escape to pass onto another character, instead of facing what your going through,
A substitute stands in without having to open your heart,
It prevents opinions and judgements, but it never fully plays the part,
Every personal story different, are you scared to show them you,
Because that's when the real love shows itself, who will truly stand by you,
Fantasy can be beautiful, bringing out the innocence at hand,
But there is nothing more beautiful than seeing your true heart, and not everyone will understand,
But isn't it enough that you do?, that is where you find your peace,
When all opinions fade into the darkness and you love yourself to see,
That God has made you beautiful, no matter what anyone says,
Your heart is more important than all the make pretend.
