Lydia, Don'T Desert Me For Life

Lydia, don't desert me for life; I've waited years
for an answer and certainly won't give up now,
you can be kinder than you've ever been:
I've struggled through the hardest of times:
feel sorry for me, don't let rejection grow,
no man should be on his knees as I've been!

Nobody looks at you more than I do,
nobody admires you more than I do;
some guys promise you sweet kisses,
instead, I promise you a real Heaven:
all that offers days of true happiness...
can you turn it down with false pretension?

Lydia, don't desert me for life; I've built a castle
and hasn't been washed away by the waves,
it's waiting for us and in there we'll live a fable
that a young storyteller has written for us;
you can guess you wrote it and why:
are you still undecided? Give it a try!

Lynda, don't desert me for life;
I care more than anybody you have met
rushing to conclusions is one of the biggest mistakes,
you have to end my emotional strife;
I've begged enough and dreamed of a rainbow at sunset...
it has rained enough and now it's time for sunshine and smiles:
run with me and let's find the joys that'll be finally ours.
