Love's Waltz

The prelude--a gentle, cerebral approach,
For time-honored ritual needs little to stoke.
Yet roles to assume must beget a coach,
Or all succeeding movements make the dance a hoax.

A formal embrace, an opening gesture made in haste,
Then hand glides gently down throttled waste.
A tentative, calm glance sets focus in place;
Composed nod engenders calibrated pace.

The cadence carefully orchestrated from the start,
Patterned movements evolve, which only metric time can part.
As in sequence they score every assigned part,
Producing harmony that melds body and heart.
