Love Poem: Love's True Ways

Love's True Ways

I remember when all the days were ours
Each tender touch healed all our scars

We gave ourselves to soft moments spent
Along the way, we have found content

And claimed a joy, we never felt
Soothed our pangs where our past has dwelt

Our love confessed in a passion's fire
Led to years that lovers desire

We reaped the beauty of trust and friend
Your guiding hand I now depend

Our days of passion has slowly gone
Replaced with comfort, each rising dawn

Our nights embrace the holding hand
And speak of those we understand

To laugh out loud at a silly tease
And play with love, the things that please

We're older now, yet each kiss is meant
They reaffirm and complement

As years have passed, the hills grow tall
We've climbed them all by Autumn's call

To await the Winter of graying days
We have come to know love's true ways
