Love Poem: Love's Destruction

Love's Destruction

you lack my permission
to renovate my soul
I don't want your demolition
go try to make yourself whole
     so many distorted priorities
     stealing everything of value
     purchasing impurities
     hoarding all that is untrue
reveling in a cache
of yesterday's pure treasures
turned into a heap of trash
by your sordid pleasures
     blood of neglected desires
     tears of rejected dreams
     lack of fulfillment sires
     the deepest of soul screams
true love taken for granted
sweet affection turned away
everything becomes tainted
when passion goes astray
      there is no longer comfort
      in my sympathetic illusions
      merely a devastating hurt
      in my destroyed delusions.
