Love Poem: Love's Battle Cry

Love's Battle Cry

Against the flow of what is right, I love you black or even white,

I see this passion born of light, despise the darkened path we fight,

To reach a place where we can rest, the ultimate togetherness,

As struggles keep our defenses high, when most would quit, still we try,

Battlefields of roses red, petals fall upon the dead,

The lost soldiers of love's true fight, that did not make it through the night,

Sweet maidens cry unto their Kings, longing for their wedding rings,

Knights on horses gallantly ride, until they reach their Lady's side,

Remember always times of old, when heroes were so fiercely bold,

When love was once the only quest, fight with me for togetherness.
