Lover's Plea

It's hard to let my pain go,
Harder now to let you go,
You crept under my skin
And now I'm falling.

I see your eyes,
Taste your sweet smile,
Touch your rosy skin,
Hear your angel voice.

Your strong arms embrace me,
You smell of spices and vanilla,
Your voice begging me not to go,
To stay but I can't.

These feelings, they scare me,
I try to act tough, keep myself
From breaking but you see right
Through me.

My walls you never noticed,
Brought them crumbling down
With just one touch; how can I
Ever stop looking back?

Back to the days when
You were all I needed,
When I took each day as it came
Because I never wanted it to end...
