Love Poem: Loveless

Loveless

Turning away from you
That was the easy part
Believing I held onto truth
But it was me that broke my heart

I am a record of memories
Playing over and over until I kneel
I am a work of tragedy
Praying over and over not to feel

Climbing my dreams at night
Tell me I still hold you close
But whispers fell in my fright
It was loneliness that I chose

I am the plague of an industry
Dying over and over until I seal
The memory of life endlessly
Screaming over and over until it heals

Seeding the earth again
My pain holds a grudge today
I hold onto what I gain
Forgetting it will not stay

I am what’s left of what I should be
Lying over and over until I am
Fear of myself and of what I see
Crying over and over in this sand

I am so tired of me helplessly
Trying over and over until I die
I question why I’m so empty
It takes me back to the starting line
Loveless, these tears are mine
