Loved In Rhyme
A guy I dated sent me a sweet poem he composed.
There were things that he eloquently disclosed.
I had only gone out with him a few times.
We laughed, and got to know each other as we dined.
His words were wonderfully romantic…
That he thought to write me a poem was fantastic!
His poem said he thought I would break his heart.
Maybe it was prophetic, because I decided to part.
That is the only poem ever written to me.
I won’t forget his charming repartee.
I still read his poem from time to time.
Then I remember I am loved in rhyme.
