Love Under Your Spotlight

I feel like holding out FOR you, would mean holding out ON me

and that feeling isn't getting any weaker

Help me to understand why I even consider?

Love not being a factor.

I act as if nothing is wrong.

Yet I'm torn.

Though you believe a Star has been born.

Best Supporting Actor.

Our audience amazed.

While I feel caged.

But my feelings are staged.

Yes, my feelings are staged.

Only cause I feel played.

I feel like the cast that was rated sad.

The one the tabloids called "mad'.

When these lights dwindle from off of me.

My spirit will be glad.

I, will get the award. Yes your "Star" will be born.

Yes I'll wear the glare of the heart that you've torn.

I'll dance under your scorn. With grace and good form.

And I'll smile in the captivity of your memories.

And walk on your line of symmetry

Being loyal to you, while deceiving me.

All this for your fame. To be closer to your name.

Just a peg in the race to be the succesor of your game.

Never mind the pain. This is how a Beast is tamed.

Lights, Camera, Action. I mean, I should be praised.

For enduring your days. When I should have been free.

The tabloids now have everything they need on me.

I've been killed emotionally. Disrespected totally.

While walking in your spotlight. You dared to notice me.

Neglected to boast with me. You've never made a toast to me.

All the while, I've been the one devoted hopelessly.

How was I out of your site? While you were my light.

Your Star is falling. Here comes the end of our night.

I thought I could do this. Wear your armor and be your knight.

But this armor shines brighter than me to you.

That's life in your spotlight.
