Love Through the Eyes of a Teenager

Love is everywhere we turn
Love binds our rationality, holding it hostage
Love is the reason for our existence
Love demands our undivided attention, and nags at our souls until it gets its way
Love is the antagonist of gravity, lifting us above reality
Love comes to us with the sincerest intentions to bring us happiness
Love is the sunshine that peaks through our blinds, illuminating the dark spaces in our hearts
Love can be strong enough to last longer than forever
Love forces us to examine the reflection in the mirror
Love is a double-edged sword; it brings out the best and worst of us
Love consistently twists our arms until we give into its games
Love taps us on the shoulder and skips away giggling
Love requires us to look beyond the needs of ourselves
Love flutters like a butterfly, changing us into the beings we are meant to become
Love can fade as slowly as the sunset sinks and dissolves into the ocean below
Love composes a seductive melody on the strings of our hearts
Love convinces us we are perfect the way we are, despite our flaws
Love tricks our minds into thinking we should follow our hearts
Love is like a meteor that shoots across the sky, even after it’s gone, we are blinded forever
Love pushes and pulls us to our limits like the undertow of the sea
Love breaks down walls no other real force on Earth can
Love is the rainbow at the end of a downpour
Love inevitably reveals how fragile we are, bending and breaking us innocently
Love can slice like a knife, splitting our hearts in half, but never evenly
Love gives us self induced anxiety attacks
Love lets us lose ourselves in the moment
Love shows us what really matters
Love points us in the right direction, but doesn’t provide us with a map for the journey
Love dangles the keys to our hearts above our soulmates, waiting for them to bite
Love is only real when shared
Love is you and me
