Love Remains Elusive
A cleansing sun rises
at the first light of dawn.
And a new day provides
a clean slate to write on.
You want to believe love
outlasts eternity.
And yet, you struggle with
doubt and uncertainty.
In dreams, love's dramatic
in both body and soul.
And yet, in truth, it oft
levies a costly toll.
Though happiness abounds,
love remains elusive.
And its existence is
somewhat inconclusive.
If love's an illusion;
it still sets your heart free.
But if you don't believe;
it just ceases to be.
