Love Poem: Love Lost

Love Lost

It was with you, that I found the seed,
Yet no harvest was in sight.
Since no fertile soil was around us,
The erosion evident by its blight.

It can't be love that we've spoken,
More like a need that hasn't been met.
Because it's not growing anywhere, as
If being strangled and soon to forget.

There's so much change that goes
Between us, that causes wonder to confuse.
Leaving a residue while creating questions,
That bewilder throughout and abuse.

This shared bond must be broken
If the seed is to ever survive.
Where the separation can be distant,
For growth to mature & hopefully thrive.

When looking forward and beyond,
If love returns, the exchange will give back.
And then a harmony may co-exist,
Where both will not want or lack.
