Love Lost, Regained

Love Lost, Regained I love to relax under the trees, Sit in the shade cast by their leaves. The wind sighs softly through the air I find I’m left with nary a care. Out in the fields the tall grass sways, Singing a song, carrying me away. To a time when days were spent leisurely, Love filled the air, it surrounded me. We were fortunate souls, my love and I, So naïve, innocent, we were so shy. We thought we’d be a couple forever, Then came a day we were not together. A freight train in the night took her away, Her death shattered me, our love seemed to sway, Now alone, how was I to survive? Yet her love carried me, I found a new drive For something came in the air tonight, But was I ready? Could I find new light? My heart felt love, a whisper in my ear, “Go my love; live; love, and endear.” I’ve found new love, my heart once again soars, I feel renewed, new love to live for. It’s with her blessing, permission if you will, But no matter who I love, she’s with me still.
