Love Lives
We were so young, so very young.
We wed before our flings were flung.
Depression era children, we
Had never lived in luxury.
We were as rich as we need be,
For love and hugs and kisses are free.
In two years when we had our boy,
He only added to our joy.
Two girls and family complete,
So many to love, my life was sweet.
Twenty-one years before we parted.
He died and left me broken hearted.
Love paid the price for all the sorrow
And warms me still through each tomorrow.
