Love Poem: Love Is My Name

Love Is My Name

Love is my name
Your heart is my game
Together, forever is my aim
I’m old fashioned without shame
I’m the pinnacle of sublime
The warmth of the colour spectrum
I’m peace and calm
A tranquil dam
A perfect sum
Of you plus me
I seek neither riches nor fame
I’m interested only in lighting my flame
And setting your passions aflame
A trip from Rome
To everywhere lonely hearts roam
Into a locked dark room
I find all those who succumb
And have given up on me
Sorry, but it truly wasn’t me
Playing with hearts is so lame
Lust seeks my fire to tame
Write my truth in a poem
Eat my thoughts like a fat worm
I smelt hate and keep hearts warm
Share my light into every home
I'm a love song, a metronome
I give rhyme schemes rhythm
I'm courage's wielding arm
A red delicate rose, firm
I'm the pillar of hope, a column
The highest solemn

I’m constantly to blame
Of a false true love form
That failed to perform
I can be disguised in humour
But only intended to harm
Breaking hearts like a swinging hammer
I kiss and hug all the same
I spread all over like body cream
I taste better than ice cream
I’m more than a daydream
Two hearts beating as one hum
Rooted in each holding arm
When you need me to come
Just call out my name,
I’m always on time
Love's my name
