Love Is Elastic
The shock of betrayal
and the bewilderment of love lost
leaves you angry with the whole world.
But forgiveness is a part of love,
a truth gleaned from years of experience.
Love is elastic;
stretching to encompass friends and family
love leaves plenty of room for self.
The choices made in life are ours
but the lessons learned, and timing, are fate;
trust in fate.
You're a loving lonely soul
seeking to find
another similar soul.
A life wasted in the pursuit of love,
such a thing cannot be.
For love is like the sun
painting flowers with a brush of rainbow light.
A kaleidoscope of colors
it creates and manipulates magic,
forging forever fantasies and dreams.
Secretly, we all hope to find our soulmate,
that perfect someone to share eternity
as two souls morph into one.
That search kindles the imagination
and stokes the libido,
making life worth living.
Breakups are painful, but not fatal,
all hurts pass with time,
and there will come a day
you'll feel loved again.
